Why Harriet Miers Withdrew Her Nomination?

Thursday, October 27, 2005

This wont be a long post, I just want to get a prediction out there and have it dated in case I'm right. Does anyone remember the way Harriet Miers' nomination was announced in the first place. The Bush administration used the nomination to deflect criticism from their handling of Hurricane Katrina. Now, with indictments of Karl Rove and Louis "Scooter" Libby about to be announced tomorrow, could Mier's withdrawal of her nomination be more about clearing the way for Bush to trump the annoucement of indictments with an announcement of a new candidate for the Supreme Court? Think about it!

The Alarm Reading List

Here's a list of what I am reading, have read and want to read in the future. Actually it's a way for me to keep track of books I find in the stacks at the library while looking for other books. I'm currently in the middle of three or four books as it is, and if I get anymore out I might go insane. That is if I'm not there already. I will be constantly updating this list for my own use as well as yours. I welcome any suggestions.
