Two Wrongs Don't Make Right Right?

Tuesday, December 27, 2005

For the first and probably only time in history, I would like to thank Ann Coulter. That's correct, I would like to thank the noted transsexual plagiarist (nod to Stephanie Miller) for two things. First, for pissing off my wife to a level that I haven't even been able to reach in our more than two years of marriage. Try as I might, I have not been able to get my wife interested in this blog venture of mine no matter how far George Bush and company run this country into the ground. Had I only known that it would only take less than one half hour of Ann Coulter's mindless rantings on FOX News to send her into a tizzy of Democratic defense, I would have willingly endangered my own IQ and turned Fairly Imbalanced News Network on long ago. Michelle will soon be joining this blog with anti-Ann rants very soon, (as soon as she can stop screaming that is. Shhh, honey it'll be ok.)

Secondly, I would like to thank Ann for opening her big stupid mouth on national TV this morning and giving me an excuse to show my impartiality in regards to government policy. On the Today show this morning (12/27) Matt Lauer "interviewed" Ann about George Bush's terrrible end of 2005. Of course according to the gender-bending right-wing fruitcake (all due apologcies to fruitcake intended) Dumbya is having a wonderful year despite pesky little facts like his poll numbers and the violent reaction by members of both parties following the revelations of illegal wiretapping of American citizens.

As the lovely shemale prattled on about our fearless leader's bold decision to throw our constitution overboard, her adam's apple bobbing wilidy, Ann had the audacity to claim that the pres-o-dent was justified in eavesdropping on American citizens because we were in a time of war. After all, she offered, FDR put American citizens of Japanese descent into internment camps during WWII.

Let's ignore for the moment that the UNITED STATES CONGRESS HAS NOT DECLARED WAR, and focus on the fact that the internment of Japanese citizens during an ACTUAL WAR, was also completely UNCONSTITUTIONAL and ILLEGAL (despite the fact that the Supreme Court neglected its duty to stop such egregious overreaching) and that the United States government has felt it neccessary to APOLOGIZE to its Japanese-American citizens for actions taken during that time period.

Let me make this painfully clear for all the sheep huddling in the corner looking for a daddy figure to tell them everything is going to be alright. THE UNITED STATES IS A FREE SOCIETY, we have been a FREE SOCIETY and we were created as a FREE SOCIETY. The UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION IS THE GUARANTEE OF THAT FREE SOCIETY.

George W. Bush swore this oath, with his hand onThe Bible no less;

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

No threat to our security is as great as an executive who has no regard for the laws which keep us free. While everyone is arguing whether we should pray in our schools or if there is a war on Christmas, a more important battle is taking place. It is the Republican party's attack on our freedom. FDR was wrong during WWII and George is even more wrong now. Two wrongs don't make the right right.
