Alarm Charity Spotlight: The Lance Armstrong Foundation

Wednesday, July 27, 2005

Lance Armstrong has won yet another Tour de France bringing his record breaking run to a close with a seventh consecutive win, but, although he is hanging up his yellow jersey, he has not stopped battling. Battling cancer. Not just the testicular cancer that nearly ended his career, but every form of cancer. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has set the bar high, their goal being the elimination of cancer death and suffering by the year 2015, and The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) has joined in that effort.

The very popular yellow "Live Strong" wristbands are available at the LAF website. They come in packs of 10 & 100, as well as a case of 1200 at a cost of a dollar each. Buy a 10 pack and pass 'em out to your friends or start a collection and buy in bulk. All proceeds go to cancer research and advocacy. Plus, while you're there, take the time to sign the letter to lawmakers in support of the 2015 goal.
